"Gentleman’s Son" 2010-2013
This character really has a special place in my heart. It seems like he has been with me the entire time I’ve been a photographer. He has grown with me as I have grown into the artist I am today. I hold on to this because it seems like he is an outlet for me in so many ways. He is my muse and I will never stop or forget about him. I plan, throughout my life, to always continue his story as I grow and change. He is my consistency that I crave. He is my art.
The one of my dreams, an ethereal volatile an unexistant man. C:
“Any ideas for the new park sculpture?”
“How about a giant, metallic octopus attacking a rook?”
that’s cool as fuck though
That’s it, I’m moving to London…
Take me with you?
Ah I love seeing actors in everyday life, all peaceful :3
Just King Arthur casually sitting over there. Nbd
Hugh Jackman is like “I’m onto you”
what to wear when…鄭氏, ching shih.
you can keep your bluebeards and your blackbeards. the most successful pirate of all time controlled a fleet of more than 1,500 ships and upwards of 80,000 sailors - and she did it all without the help of facial hair… she steadily brought more and more outlaws under the banner of her red flag fleet [until she] was eventually responsible for nearly all the piracy in the region and her fleet exceeded the size of many countries’ navies. cheng i sao’s reach also extended to the mainland, where she set up an extensive spy network and developed economic ties with farmers who would supply her men with food. if cheng i sao’s business practices were exemplary, then her system of pirate law was nothing short of revolutionary.
#most magnificent pirate of all time busting heads and breaking hearts all up and around china #went from a prostitute to pirate’s wife to pirate queen admiral supreme had more material political and military success than any other pirate #cemented the pirate code of conduct and at-sea ethics made stealing or enacting any kind of crime upon those who were innocent or had surrendered or otherwise not made themselves enemy punishable by death #SPECIFICALLY MADE RAPE PUNISHABLE BY DEATH and none of that rape vs. rape-rape bullshit any kind of non-consensual or even not actively encouraged sexual behavior and you were at the bottom of the ocean #manipulated the shit out of everyone around her and was a ludicrously clever strategist #the navy tried to stop her so she just shrugged and captured 63 imperial ships and when the admiral of the chinese navy was trapped he killed himself rather than face her wrath #she finally was like okay i’ve been crushing it as a badass mc/creatrix of codes of honor/unmatched tactician/pirate queen for a few decades #now maybe i should take the govt’s cushy offer of amnesty and chill out on a huge estate with all my pirate treasure for the rest of my days #and open a gambling house and marry this loyal dude of my own volition #i guess that’s a pretty awesome retirement plan for a steely take-no-shit khaleesi who commanded an 80k army of sailors #oh and when she married her husband one of the prenup requirements was that she had to always been given equal power respect and autonomy #and what a good choice on his part because her acumen intelligence and insight made them rich and influential beyond any logical expectation #not saying that those under her rule were living in a utopia or anything #women still had it comparatively rough #but it’s still impressive
